Wensleydale Wednesday!

As soon as I laid eyes on this quilt, I knew it was one that I had to make. So many different fabrics with these amazing rectangle blocks…I could see a challenge ahead.

This is the type of quilt that I associate with the true spirit of patchwork but with a modern, edginess that aligns with an interiors feeling of modernism and vintage at the same time (not sure if that is even possible but this quilt makes me think of the possibilities).

The pattern is available in Jen Kingwell’s book simply titled: Quilt Recipes and yes, you guessed it, the book includes quilts and recipes. I bought my copy from Amitie Textiles (Jen Kingwell’s Quilt Shop) as soon as it came out and intend to make as many quilt projects (and recipes) as I can from this delightful book.

Sadly, I don’t have picture of the finished quilt that I Semi Custom quilted on my Longarm machine using rulers. At least I documented the fabric layouts. As I posted at the time of making, the more fabric colours and choices you add, the better this quilt gets! So just go for it with all the marvellous left over fat quarters you have lying around (I know they are out there).

That a wrap from me, I will update the gallery if I can find any more images of this quilt. It remains one of my very favourites (but as a quilter you will probably know that all the quilts we make have a special place in our hearts).

Have a great day, try something you haven’t done before, and most of all — happy quilting!
